We may or may not be totally obsessed with ice cream at our house. In fact, I knew that Neil and I were meant to be together the minute I saw his kitchen. The only thing to eat was a bunch of great cheeses, and a freezer full of ice cream. And capers - aren't they just impossible to get rid of? I feel like every fridge in America eventually ends up with a half-empty bottle of capers in there from some ill-fated chicken piccatta attempt in the mid-nineties. But I digress.
The ice cream. We loves it.
Which is why ever since I've seen these I've been dying to try to make them. But I don't know. I checked out the recipe here, and it looks complicated. Frozen bananas? Melon ballers? It might be a little out of my league. But maybe you'd like to try it and have me over as a taste tester. Just sayin...

Embrace your inner nerd
How great are these posters for nerds in love?
Just the right thing to ease into the week on a Monday morning. Check out the other great ones in the etsy shop.
Time to make the donuts.

Oh the cuteness
It's the end of a really good weekend spent puttering around the house, firing up the kitchen, and enjoying the fall in the midwest. I had grand plans to carve a pumpkin with two little bottom teeth just like George. Alas, Halloween is tomorrow, and I just don't have it in me to tackle the beast. I may just have to resort to drawing it on with magic marker. Martha Stuart I am not. On the bright side, here's some cuteness for your Sunday night enjoyment:
Sweet dreams.

Striped sweater dress: yes please!
I know, I know, horizontal stripes are not supposed to be flattering. That is, unless you have ever been referred to as "gamine." And I can't imagine that they would be any more becoming if they were in chunky sweater form. But here's the thing - I can't seem to get enough of stripey sweater dresses this fall. I mean, tell me this wouldn't be fantastic with some tights? Anyway, happy friday.
Here we go again
Welcome to a place to collect the good, the memorable and the hilarious in our lives. Might as well put it all down somewhere, right?
So, by way of introduction, here is some of the crew. First, Nelson:
a.k.a. "little dog." The Man's best friend, lover of rotisserie chicken, and dirty socks, prewasher of dishes, and toilet paper destroyer. Most frequently seen slipping through the fence to taunt the neighbors. Not too keen on "listening."
Next up, Welly:
a.k.a. "silly old dog." Friend of nice mommies everywhere, lover of greenies and soccer balls. Most frequently found prowling around on (!) the dining room table looking for leftovers.
And now, George:
a.k.a. "Georgie," "fatty mcfatterson," "fats mcgee," "mister man." George is nine months old, and enjoys rolling around, eating and terrorizing the dogs. He does not, however, seem so excited about halloween, no?
Hopefully he will come around by Monday.
Anyway, here we are. Thanks for checking in - more to come.
